Polyurethanes Feedstocks: Most Prices Down in January In Europe

In January, most polyurethane feedstock prices in western Europe were down 2.5% against December, the newsletter Plastics Information Europe says in its latest report. Rigid polyols, which gained EUR 15/t, were an exception, MDI fell by up to EUR 35/t, TDI by EUR 25/t, and flexible polyols by EUR 35/t.

With production largely uninterrupted and the construction industry in hibernation, polymeric MDI and flexible polyols tended toward oversupply. With Asian imports absent, pure MDI was scarcer. As usual in winter, rigid polyols were long. Higher feedstock calls have already triggered calls for rises of EUR 200/t in Europe.
